Board-certified psychiatrist Emad Bishai, MD, has a passion for helping people navigate the challenges of emotional, mental, and behavioral disorders and takes a holistic approach to support whole-person wellness.
After earning his bachelor’s degree from the Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine in Egypt, Dr. Bishai completed his psychiatry training at One Brook Health (formerly Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center) in Brooklyn, New York. He later finished a clinical fellowship in pain management at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pennsylvania.
Dr. Bishai was certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and previously served as the medical director of the psychosomatic sleep medicine department at Penn State Health in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
At The Woodlands Psychiatry and Counseling, Dr. Bishai offers in-office and telepsychiatry appointments to screen for mental health issues like anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and bipolar disorder. He also provides behavioral assessments for conditions like attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
In addition to traditional medications and psychological counseling, Dr. Bishar has extensive experience using advanced therapies to manage symptoms of treatment-resistant depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The Woodlands Psychiatry and Counseling office features ketamine infusion therapy, stellate ganglion blocks, and BrainsWay® TMS™ (deep transcranial magnetic stimulation) to provide lasting symptom relief when other therapies aren’t working.
Counseling services, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), are available for individuals, couples, and groups. Dr. Bishai also provides customized anger management therapy and resources to address relationship issues.
